Welcome to the web site of the NaturalHy Project
Naturalhy is an Integrated Project, co-financed by the European Commission through the Sixth Framework Programme (2002-2006) for research, technological development and demonstration (RTD). The main objective of NATURALHY project is to contribute to the preparation for the hydrogen economy by:
- Identifying and removing the potential barriers inhibiting the development of hydrogen as an energy carrier, using the existing natural gas system as a catalyst for change;
- Initiating the near-future practical transition towards the hydrogen economy

Strategic Advisory Committee |
|
The Strategic Advisory Committee addresses the strategic aspects of the NATURALHY-project and establishes a platform for dissemination and for promoting public understanding and acceptance of hydrogen. It comprises of the leading members of the NATURALHY-project and of selected representatives and advisors of decision makers, policy makers, environmentalists, regulators, authorities and policy groups in the fields of energy, environment, safety and legislation, at national, European and international level. The Committee is chaired by prof. Dr. C. Beckervordersandforth, the former chairman of CEN.
The Strategic Advisory Committee discusses the strategic aspects of the project and it is the ‘vehicle’ by which the NATURALHY-members can inform the Committee of the vision and results of the Project, so that these are taken into account in their own processes. In addition, all members of the Committee are informed about the current relevant developments in politics, legislation, other projects etc.
Participation to SAC is open, under certain conditions, to new third parties who are interested. Organisations interested in joining the Strategic Advisory Committee should contact Mr. Onno Florisson, Project Co-ordinator (
