Aims and objectives:

NATURALHY is a complex and ambitious project with 39 partners. The difficulty of managing such a large and diverse group is clearly recognised and it is acknowledged that well thought-out management activities are required in order to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

The principal issues for management activities are:

  • Fostering and maintaining good communications and relationships amongst all partners

  • Co-ordination and integration of partners activities to ensure synergies

  • Managing the complex financial and business aspects of the project

  • Organising IPR and knowledge management

    • Organising and running meetings of the various levels of groups within the project

    • Task level meetings

    • WP leaders meetings

    • Steering Group meetings

    • Full consortium meetings

    • Advisory Group meetings.

Work Package 8 “Project Management”, has been focussed, during the first half of the fourth year, on:

  • the preparation and submission to the Commission of the third Annual Report;

  • continued operation of the Project Executive Committee for managing the overall project in accordance with the contract with the European Commission and the Consortium Agreement;

  • enhancing integration of the Work Packages by exploring, developing and formalizing the linkages and dependence between them;

  • continued functioning of the Strategic Advisory Committee, involving organizing the fourth SAC meeting which took place on 12 October 2007, and;

  • implementation and execution of NATURALHY project co-ordination tasks.

The Project Executive Committee met formally on three occasions starting in the first half of the fourth year of the project and, although the agenda of each meeting included technical points and technical items were discussed, in the coming period more meetings will be dedicated to technical subjects.

Additional meetings comprised:

  • the 4th Full Consortium Meeting, Stratford upon Avon, 28 & 29 June, 2007;
